Our trips are intended for individuals instead of groups, so we're able to use small, authentic accommodation with local character and warm welcomes. With Rickshaw Travel, you won't find large group coach tours but instead travel by trains, buses, private car, planes, and sometimes minibus. Flexibility and independence are fundamental, which is why we organise as much or as little as our customers wish. Suzanne AldertonEgypt travel specialistMy first time in Egypt was as a tour leader in 2007 and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the country. Aside from marvelling at the incredible Pyramids in Cairo, the most memorable part of my trip was snorkelling in the Red Sea in Dahab. As a snorkelling beginner, I felt as if I had entered a completely foreign world, surrounded by luminous fish and the most beautiful coral, and I would have happily spent weeks exploring this ocean paradise.I have walked up the famous Mount Sinai four times, both for sunrise and sunset, and it was certainly worth getting up in the middle of the night for! Having reached the top, after about ten coffees and chocolate bars along the way, the sense of tranquillity and peace was incredible as I watched the sun come up from behind the mountains and I felt like I was on top of the world. The history and culture of Egypt is so fascinating that it takes a lot of time to fully explore the country, so I’m looking forward to my next trip out there to discover new and remote places! |

Haydn WrathManagerEgypt Travel Plan is run by Haydn Wrath.I left the University of East Anglia in 1984 and escaped what seemed a very grim England by spending the rest of the 1980s travelling and working round the world. During this time I put in some usual stints as an English teacher in Tokyo, a landscape gardener in Sydney and a tarmac layer's assistant in Alaska. In 1990, I joined Bridge the World Travel Centre in London as manager of the World-wide department, where I was able to put my degree in Politics and Philosophy to good use. I fulfilled my ambition to set up a specialist travel company in 2001 when I founded Travel Nation, and later in 2006 set up Rickshaw Travel (holding company for Egypt Travel Plan). |
